My kids are not accustomed to seeing beer in the house. Neither Mr. Pete or I ever grew the tastebuds for it. It’s not that we’re against drinking in moderation, it’s just not something that we prefer to do, although I could nurse a mixed drink or a glass of wine at a party all evening.

Last weekend Mr. Pete and I were invited to a dinner as part of our supper club, and we were responsible for bringing the appetizer and the beer! Not being big beer consumers, we were somewhat clueless as to what would be the best beer to purchase but we muddled through and even had some bottles left over to bring home.

This week, as part of his first communion preparation, Noah is required to make a loaf of bread and bring it to church to hand out to someone in the congregation. …sigh

So guess what kind of bread we’re gonna make?

Cooks.com – Recipe – Beer Bread: “BEER BREAD
3 c. flour
3 tbsp. sugar
1 can beer – room temp.
1 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
Mix good by hand – put in a greased bread pan and smooth off top.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.”
