Hi, I’m Elena LaVictoire. Welcome to My Domestic Church.

I read once that everyone needs their own soapbox. With that in mind, I started blogging over 20 years ago to share and talk about what I was living as a Catholic wife, mother, and homeschooler. Here is a place to read about living out the liturgical year and long-term homeschooling,

I was born and baptized into the Catholic church as an infant. I was in jr. high and high school during Vatican 2. My religious education went to something that was interesting and rich to making burlap banners with butterflies. My expensive Catholic Education failed to educate me about my Catholic faith. Since my mom was a convert, I didn’t really learn much about how to incorporate the liturgical year and all of the richness of my Catholic faith into my home life. When I reverted back to my Catholic faith, I made it a priority to learn how to do that.

Now after homeschooling six children and 44 years of marriage, I am still learning and growing in my faith, but I love to share some of the things that worked for us and new things that I’ve discovered.

I also share posts about homeschooling, especially in high school and looking forward to college. I have co-authored two books and can be heard as a flute soloist with the Peace Together Choir, available on I tunes and Amazon.

When I am not practicing, homeschooling or playing with my 10-year-old granddaughter, I blog about it all regularly here at mydomesticchurch.com
