to see what other ladies are thinking and doing today!

Outside my Window… the wind is howling and the sky is dark and gloomy – fall is beginning to creep it’s way through into September

I am thinking…that I have too much to do and not enough time to do it. I do want to get to church though, because today is the Solemnity of Our Lady of Sorrows. I have commemorated that day since my son was stillborn in 2002 and I have a strong need to continue what has become a personal devotion.

From the learning rooms…Get everyone up to speed on math and reading, and continue looking at hurricanes!

I am thankful for…that Ike did not lead to the devastation that we saw with Katrina. I am thankful for those who survived Ike’s wrath. I am wondering how my nephew and his family fared.

From the kitchen…meat loaf and potatoes.

I am wearing… black capris, a blue and white striped shirt.

I am reading…The Witch of Blackbird Pond (Yearling Newbery)

I am hoping…that Sam’s very first game as a soccer ref goes smoothly and that he enjoys being able to earn a little income for himself.

I am creating…well- I created a new updated template! I loved these pictures from our visit to Lake Michigan last month and thought if I was going to use them, it better be quick!!

I am hearing…buzzing in my ears. I always have buzzing in my ears!

Around the house…laundry, straighten the downstairs, meet my typing goals.

One of my favorite things…the slight snap of fall in the air – and watching my kids run in cross country!

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week…get our car fixed. Our old 1990 Blazer died at Aldi’s and Mr. Pete is waiting for the tow truck. He thinks it is the fuel pump. The thing about Mr. Pete is that he will fix ANYTHING. Even if he has never fixed it before. And he does a good job. He is the kind of guy that can look at a problem and figure out the problem. But in the meantime I will be down a car. I wonder if I’m going to have to ride my bike around town?

Here is a picture thought I am sharing for you:
Izzy to the finish line

This is Izzy racing up hill to the finish line, but if you look in the background you can see Mr. Pete with Rosie on his shoulders cheering her on!
