Wow, 6 years already…

6 years ago tonight, I gave birth to my 4th son! Little Noah Emmet. He has blond hair, blue blue eyes, freckles and dimples – he looks nothing at all like me. Clearly I was just the incubater here for my husband’s Irish/French seed!

My husband’s birthday is the 22nd of March. I remember 6 years ago I dutifully downed a bottle of castor oil in the morning to induce labor (this kid was already at least one week overdue). Now don’t laugh- that had worked for me before AND it worked for a several friends of mine – but a baby ain’t gonna come if the baby ain’t ready! So all I got was a cleaned out system – Noah did not come until… today! How cool I thought- to be born on a feast day and a really neat feast day like this one honoring Mary, Jesus and the angel Gabriel!! My only other child that arrived on a big feast day was Raphael – All Saints.

So, I’m going to make a big deal over the tie in with Noah today- He’s old enough to understand. He’s also old enough to get that we are doing the major celebrating on Saturday- because Daddy will be home on Saturday. But today I want him to start feeling something special with the Blessed Mother and Baby Jesus and I’m going to emphasize that for him.
