I mentioned a week or so ago that I am starting my own homeschool co-op.

As frustrated as I became with my current co-op, I probably would have stayed until Miss C. graduated in 6 years. However, my current group is being evicted. We were renting from a local Catholic Church (another post on that later). The new location is in another county and would require about a 30 to 40 minute drive on a very busy highway. It feels less like homeschooling when you have to leave your county to do it. This requirement takes the home out of homeschool!

So for that main reason, I wanted to start something that was actually local. With my friend, we started making inquiries and letting people know our intention. We don’t wish to compete with the other co-op, so we moved our day. Some people might want to participate in both co-ops.

At this point, we still don’t actually know if this is going to work or not. We had an open house with a presentation. We’ll see if we have any other families that want to join us.

We have a website: Summit County Christian Homeschool Co-op.

We are also on Facebook.
