Outside my window…

My neighbors had a birthday party this weekend and this was part of their entertainment!

I am thinking…
about the Equifax breach and how much time it is going to take to get credit freezes and all of that.

Also thinking about the folks in Florida and anxiously watching their Facebook feeds to see if everyone is okay.

Remembering another 9/11.

I am thankful…
that there were not a lot of lives lost with Hurricane Irma.

I am pondering…
our new bishop in the Diocese of Cleveland.   Bishop Nelson Perez, who is old enough to be my baby brother. I had accepted having a doctor younger than me, a pastor younger than me, and even a president younger than me. But when your Bishop is a few years short, it’s a little unnerving.

Still, Bishop Perez seems like a very pleasant and holy man. I look forward to seeing what he will do in our diocese.

I am hearing…
Tinnitus and the whir of my computer

In the kitchen…
Sloppy joes tonight and a little celebration of my goddaughter’s birthday!

I am wearing…
Black skort, gray T, pink hoodie.

I am going…

  • to walk or work out every day with Pfilates
  • add some additional novenas next year with the help of PrayMoreNovenas.com and attending mass this week for Our Lady of Sorrows.
  • to cut my carbs via the Wheat Belly Total Health: The Ultimate Grain-Free Health and Weight-Loss Life Plan recommendations and intermittent fasting. I stepped on the scale last week and was happy to see a 4 pound drop, so I am sticking with it this week too.
  • Preparing my general science lesson for Wednesday.
  • Get all the scraping done at the flip house because Miss C. will not be allowed to spend the night with her father until it’s all scraped and apparently painted as well. This is going to take some time. But the kitchen is looking better!

First day of soccer!

I am reading…

I’m listening to this on  Audible  during my walks this week.  The author talks a lot about visualizing and being in the moment and how that helps with peak performance. We did this last week and Rosie significantly improved her time.  Yesterday, she made a personal PR!

Rosie is also taking a writing class online using the Once Upon a Time Saint series as the writing
prompt.

A quote to share…

When I was desperately looking for ways to help Calvin learn to read, the Writer’s Jungle by Bravewriter’s Julie Bogart was a source of great inspiration to me.

The Writer’s Jungle

Coherence is not the goal of
raw writing, life is. Coherence
is what you impose on raw
writing as you revise.
