Outside my window…we’re having a heat wave! It’s in the 20s today, with light snowfall and gray skies with HUGE icicles hanging from my roof!

I am thinking… about my niece’s thoughts on the new administration and the end of the old one. I share her sadness about the end of President Bush’s presidency and I am dreading the start of the new one. I can’t think if a worse combination of poor economy + tax and spend big government democrat. But I guess the old saying is true, if you don’t know history, you are doomed to repeat it.

I am thankful for… the safe return of Mr. Pete home last night at 6:30.

From the learning rooms…we had a good week last week. When I was particularly busy on Wednesday I had the kids watch the musical 1776
1776, which was rather long, but they seemed to enjoy it, and it fit in with our American History theme for the year!

From the kitchen… lots of soup planned this week – split pea, potato and bean soup! I am also relearning to love Spam!

I am wearing…my night gown and very soft, plush bathrobe that Mr. Pete picked up for $6.00 at Marc’s!

I am creating… a new schedule and new files for my new computer!

I am going… to really work on that exercise program this week. I did actually workout yesterday with The Firm: Total Sculpt Plus Abs
The Firm and my arms and legs have been screaming every since!

I am reading…Moby-Dick
Moby Dick with Sam and and Stuart Little
Stuart Little with the Gabe and Noah. I have to pick a new book to read after Johnny Tremain!

I am hoping…that the economy starts to pick up. I am also hoping that I can find a way to keep all the balls in the air this week including adding science and history back into our curriculum.

I am hearing…my normal low ear buzz, but not as much as usual. The kids are in the basement, Calvin is at work, Mr. Pete and the middle kids are at Sunday School. (Yea, I’m writing a day ahead – time management!)

Around the house…Get ready for Sam’s big “Dude, I’m 16!” Birthday Bash!!

A few plans for the rest of the week:Buckle down with that exercise program. Hopefully if I can do it again today that will be 2 days in a row! It takes 21 days I believe to make a habit.
