This is a feast we try to recognize in our house as my husband’s name is Peter and that is Calvin’s middle name too. To commemorate the feast we always have a fish or seafood dish (Peter was a fisherman, a fisher of men too!) The recipe I used last night came from my Campbell’s soup cookbook for tuna casserole and it is pretty tasty! We’re having it for lunch today. I also will read the readings for the mass today to the kids at lunchtime.

As we are also celebrating Izzy’s belated birthday tonight, I thought for a treat it might be fun to take some of those fish crackers and mix them up with some M&M as a salty and sweet treat.

Some interesting sites for the feast day.

What I would REALLY like to do is keep my eyes open for a big fish net or some type of netting material to decorate with next year for this feast. Maybe make some keys and paper fish to go with it. It’s on my wish list!
