Outside my window

This is what it sort of looks like around here now.

I am thinking…
about the beautiful Christmas concert I was part of yesterday.  It was beautiful and I really enjoyed myself. Here is a sample of the type of music that we perform. I wish I could work with them more often. Then in two weeks I perform once more with our children’s choir, bell choir and adult choir for a Christmas concert as well as Christmas masses.  I am really looking forward to that.

Being involved in music has been such a gift for my family. All of us are involved except for my oldest and Rosie (who is just a little too young yet!) It really puts the focus off of the hustle and bustle and gift buying into a more settled and subdued type of Christmas.  And because of that my children even ask for modest gifts for which I am grateful.

I am thankful for…
every day and that my Mother exposed me to music early and nurtured that in the context of the liturgy.

From the learning rooms
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe with Noah and Gabe this week. Sam starts on Huck Finn!

From the kitchen…
Pork- because everyone is tired of poultry!

I am wearing…
Black pants and a white top with a black vest and black shoes- my concert outfit!

I am creating…
Peace within myself. And saying the Serenity prayer especially the part about accepting the things I cannot change.

I am going…
to enjoy my new dining room set!  A few weeks ago I bought a dining room set. It is an antique but very nice with 10 matching chairs!  It can seat up to 14 comfortably- which means 16 or more if you squish together. I also got my mother’s china cabinet and buffet out of storage. So it looks like a grown up, beautiful and gracious dining area now.  And that was important to me because I really want to be able to have guests an to serve them comfortably.

I am reading…
Dr. Susan Love’s Breast Book:4th Edition 2005
The Divine Office for Dodos: A Step-By-Step Guide to Praying the Liturgy of the Hours

I am hoping…
to be more peaceful and prayerful during this Advent season.  I am also hoping that Calvin will find his way in life.

I am hearing…
buzzing in my ears – again.

Around the house…

teens watching a movie, and little girl playing in the backtround.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
1. Walk or exercise tape every day.
2. Make an appointment to see my own doctor just for a check up.

A picture I am sharing:
My beautiful dining room.
