Happy New Year!

Here at My Domestic Church, we are celebrating the new year with a new baby! Noah and Annabelle welcomed their first child last week. We thought she would be a New Year’s Baby contender. However, Miss FJ delayed her entrance for a few more hours. She will now share her birthday with the Feast of St. Basil. She is beautiful. It was a rough delivery, but mom felt cared for and supported, and we are grateful for that! Dad is smitten. So is Grandpa. So am I.

I remember being outnumbered by four little boys and a husband in my home. Now I live with my two daughters and one husband and my granddaughters to grandsons ratio is 2 to 1. It’s funny how the numbers have changed.

In other news, Calvin and his family are well and thriving. They survived a pretty scary car accident last fall, but they only had minor injuries. I attribute that to the protection of St. Andrew and the Novena in his name. I prayed it again this year with renewed enthusiasm because they did so well.

Sam and his wife are also doing well in Florida. He is working at another restaurant as a butcher, and he enjoys his workplace and his colleagues. Kass is doing well, too. I think they both appreciate the nice weather in the south. It is much nicer compared to the snow we have in Ohio.

Gabe is working in maintenance at a local university and doing a lot of handyman jobs. He is also pursuing his comedy career. Miss C. is now in the pre-teen years. She has a lot of sass, but it is so fun to see how she is growing and maturing.

Both of my girls are in college and living at home. Izzy will graduate this spring. Rosie is in the middle of her junior year. I am excited to see what the future holds for them.

Mr. Pete is still working and I don’t think he is even considering retirement. He is helping Noah add a bathroom and another bedroom to his home so they will have more room with the new baby.

I am not teaching at my co-op, but just teaching Miss C. at home. I helped Izzy with a lot of her academic papers as her editor and research assistant. I must admit that I loved doing that. But next semester, all of the classes are art classes. She can handle all of that completely on her own.

Rosie is taking a lot of science for her STEM major. We never did physics in her homeschooling, but she picked it up pretty quickly and has maintained a great GPA. She is also working as a biology tutor and is happy with her college life.

Overall life is good, and we are blessed.
