Wisdom that comest out of the mouth of the Most High, that reachest from one end to another, and orderest all things mightily and sweetly, come to teach us the way of prudence!

As we enter this final week before Christmas, the Liturgy’s focus is on the marvel of Christ’s first coming in the flesh.

The Eatiphons

In keeping with our tradition of “Eating through the Antiphons” or as the kids call it, the “Eatiphons” we use food as the connection in celebrating the liturgical year. It helps everyone remember what the antiphon focuses on and it helps us to focus on a different aspect of preparing to meet Jesus in His nativity.

A wee bit of chocolate or some other sweet treat should suffice to honor this particular antiphon!

But brain food would be great for wisdom too!

Latin
O Sapientia, quæ ex ore Altissimi prodiisti, attingens a fine usque ad finem, fortiter suaviterque disponens omnia: veni ad docendum nos viam prudentiæ.

Wisdom, O holy Word of God, you govern all creation with your strong yet tender care. Come and show your people the way to salvation.
