I am thinking…
how lucky my sister is to be okay today!!   Around 3 p.m. on Mother’s Day, she was going on a long bike ride with her husband – hoping to get in 25 miles or so.  Sis and her husband, Mr. Bill, are excellent riders.  They have all the right gear too – shoes that click into the peddles, biking clothes, gloves and helmets! They follow all of the rules of the road too.  Apparently sis got hit from behind.  An onlooker just happened to see her sailing through the air and called 911.  Right now, that’s all we really know.  The driver that hit her stayed and was quiet distraught.  Some other drivers stopped to offer assistance. Police made a report.

Just as I was settling down with Rosie to watch a movie, Mr. Bill called me from the ambulance to give me the news.  So the rest of Mother’s day was spent going to or from the hospital and riding in the ambulance with sis as she was transferred up to Akron’s trauma center.

I am thankful…
that the accident wasn’t worse and that sis is home and resting now. Praying that her concussion had no long lasting sequela and that her headache goes away soon.  Sis was wearing her helmet, but she landed hard on her face – thus the headache and the chipped tooth.

I am pondering…
Whether or not to go ahead and baptize my granddaughter by myself.  I have been known to do that before (and if you’re a friend of mine who let me watch your baby in the early 90s when you had no intention of baptizing him or her, I probably did it for you!)

A favorite quote for today…
“Wisdom is not communicable. The wisdom which a wise man tries to communicate always sounds foolish… Knowledge can be communicated, but not wisdom. One can find it, live it, do wonders through it, but one cannot communicate and teach it.”  Herman Hess
