I am thinking…
about how hard it is to come back to real life after the Christmas holiday!!  The kids and I took three weeks off from homeschooling, but the first two weeks were still kind of tough because of the concerts and masses and the actual Christmas preparation!! I only really felt relaxed last week and that was only after playing for mass on New Years Day!.  And those last few days were spent purging and cleaning out my basement which looks absolutely fantastic now!  But it wasn’t really restful – not really.  I really think Jesus had the right idea about going off on his own for 40 days all alone- and then it dawned on me- maybe I am more of a Lent person than a Christmas person?

Could be.

I also had a hard slap in the face by my old friend reality this weekend.  I was watching High School Musical with Rosie and I suddenly realized that Ms. Darbus is Allyson Reed – from A Chorus Line!

and now I really do feel old!

And of course since my kids had never seen a Chorus Line- that was our Saturday Night  movie, because clearly I had forgotten how really raunchy it was!  All  I could remember about it was this:

and forgot about this and this!

I am thankful …
That Jenn Fulwiler over at Conversion Diary is stable and able to update us on her condition (bilateral pulmonary emboli while pregnant – not fun!!)  Prayers are still needed because this is a very serious condition and the baby is not due until April! Donations for the family and especially for her Lovenox prescription are being accepted here.

From the kitchen…
Chipped ham in white sauce over biscuits and green salad.

I am wearing…
Black pants and black sweat shirt

I am creating…
a new school schedule for the kids and me.  Hoping to keep at my workouts and practice schedule too.  I lost 15 pounds last year and while I’m glad it’s gone I really want to drop quite a bit more before the summer time – particularly because I will be going to Franciscan University for the Youth Conference this year and I want to be in great shape for that – so a lot of sweating must be done!

I am going…
to take all the kids to all of their activities this week – even if it kills me.

Of special interest is that Noah had knee pain last week so I took him to the sports doctor.  He rolls his feet in pretty noticeably and so they told him that is pulling his patella out of alignment – but in addition to that he has weak glutes! Now this kid has been running maybe 20+ miles a week for most of the year so it baffles my mind that his glutes are weak and yet when I saw the doctor test for that it was pretty clear that they were.  This is also affecting the alignment of the patella – what a mechanism the human leg is!  So I bought him new supportive shoes and he is signed up for physical therapy to strengthen his glutes.  I also found this blast from the past in my collection and he’s going to start the toning section.

Dated… but still effective.

I am reading…
A number of things on my new Kindle Fire- that my kids got me for Christmas!

I am hearing…
the buzzing in my ears and the hum of the computer.
