Mr. Pete and some of the kids walking in the cemetery after the annual mass on Sunday.

I am thinking…
Our life is over like a sigh.
Our span is seventy years
or eighty for those who are strong.  Psalm 90

I am thankful …
for the annual mass at the cemetery and grateful to see familiar faces there every year.

From the learning rooms
I have been taking advantage of the courses offered in my subscription through Homeschool Connections. Gabe and Noah are taking a course on church history and an English course on Huck Finn.  Noah is also taking the Latin Bootcamp.  It is really a nice change of pace for our homeschool.

Hopefully Sam will take and pass his CLEP in biology this week.

Rosie is up to lesson 21 on the 100 Easy Lessons! and Izzy is plugging away on her regular course work.

From the kitchen…
Ghostly Shepherd’s Pie – was so good last week, it’s a make again for this week!  Also making Turkey casserole and sticky chicken.

I am wearing…
Gray pants, gray shirt with white sweater.

I am creating…
time to practice so that I am ready for all the upcoming concerts and memorial services.
I am going…
to try to work some extra prayer time into my days.  Praying for:

  • Calvin- who has made more of an effort to connect with us this week and who has also been around some pretty bad accidents lately.
  • Sam – who will now start studying to re-take the Analyzing Literature CLEP test.
  • Gabe – who is almost done with 9th grade two months into his 10th grade year.  In homeschool we don’t flunk you and make you do it over – you can do 9th grade – for as long as it takes!
  • Noah who is preparing for confirmation and for the 4 mile Turkey Run on Thanksgiving Day.
  • Izzy – who is fighting with her best friend and also struggling to get ready for the 4-mile race.  She and Noah can no longer run together  -he is too fast for her.
  • Rosie- who is trying to count to 100 but still needs a bit of help.
  • Mr. Pete – who hurt his back but seems to be doing better.

I am reading…
Huck Finn with my kids and getting ready to start Tom Sawyer.

I am hoping…
Mr. Pete feels better.

I am looking forward to…
the Christmas concerts.
Around the house…
Now I have to get the little parts of my house that have little “piles” of things that have collected, uncluttered and put away.  Thanksgiving will be at my house this year!
