As you can see by this picture of Sam reffing a soccer game – it is pretty green and lush around here.

I am thinking…
about how much stuff is going on in May! With soccer games to ref and recitals and contests… I have to be very careful not to overbook anything.

What makes it really hard is that my teenagers now want a say about the schedule. Gone are the days when I could just schedule something and then tell them about it on the way to the event and they would happily go!

I remember that when I was first homeschooling my little boys, I was so envious of the moms with teenagers because I thought they had it made! Someone to help with the housework and watch the littler kids – heck those moms could even get out for a hair cut without getting a baby sitter!

But teenagers bring their own problems.

I love what Niecy Nash said about raising teens at about 2:11 in this clip:

I am thankful for…
that it is finally spring!

From the learning rooms
Sam is starting As You Like It – Shakespeare. Noah is doing a bunch of tests to see where he will start in Saxon 7/6, Gabe is taking some math tests too just to see if he does better on tests than on his daily work! The little girls are decorating some Mother’s Day Cards.

From the kitchen…
I’ve got an interesting potato and ham recipe I’m trying for tonight.

I am wearing…
Black pants and black t-shirt.

I am creating…
a big calendar with all of these events on it with my Google Calendar. I am also going to the Homeschool Expo online!!!!!!If you want to go, grab your ticket here!

I am going…
coordinate for my first wedding of the season this weekend!

I am reading…
I’m reviewing Bravewriter and Help for High School.

I am hoping…
to walk a lot with Izzy’s best friend T this week.  T. doesn’t get a lot of exercise and is a little overweight, but she is open to being my couch  potato to 5K buddy.  Also doing my Firm Rotations.

I am hearing…
Sam, Gabe and the singers practicing for the youth mass to be done next month!

Around the house…

recovering from a busy weekend.  Tonight I am playing the flute at a special mass and I’ll have to practice this afternoon for that.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
Start moving ahead teaching Rosie to read and write. I wish she could wait until fall, but I guess I should strike while the iron is hot!  I also want to teach Izzy how to embroider.  I found all of this wonderful embroidery from my grandma and great grandma and she has expressed an interest in learning.  Gosh- I haven’t done that in years! but I think that might be a fun thing to for us to do together this summer.
