I’m going to pick up some red, white and blue cupcakes at the store today to celebrate the civil and orderly transfer of power in the United States. We do this ever four to eight years, and we do it with style, grace and most importantly, in peace!

The system, for the most part works. And I want to celebrate that today. I do not want to be a whiny, bitchy, sore loser type. We’ve had enough of that for the last eight years. I’m willing to put the voter fraud, record campaign spending, and almost complete media bias in the past, and let President Obama have his shot. I’ll do even more than that – I’ll pray for him.

This is a big job. There is certain to be a learning curve and some missteps, especially for a guy who has never held an executive position before. The truth is President Obama is untried and untested. We’re about to get on the ride with him and hope he knows how to use the controls and guide the ship! But he’s not a Capt. Sullenberger. If we get into trouble, he simply doesn’t have the experience to draw from. What we are counting on is that his instincts are good. But we don’t know that yet. I pray that he can live up to the promise 53% of the popular voters saw in him.

Lastly, yes, I think we can put our disagreements behind us and work together. As long as he works honorably for the entire country, I can give him my loyalty and support. I think conservatives can be gracious losers. There won’t be any pulling the letter O off of the computer keyboards this time around. Because conservatives are gracious losers. I hope we can be gracious enough to give him a chance, while still trying to compel and persuade with clear, logical and truthful discussions, withholding criticism and dissent unless it becomes necessary.

So we’ll enjoy the cupcakes. Folks in Washington DC will enjoy the big grand inauguration. I don’t begrudge any of us our celebrations- maybe the extra spending and the lighter mood will be enough to jump start our economy.
