The results are in.

I’m not quite sure what to make out of the winner for best design. The design is very simple, and there are absolutely no blog rolls. #2 is a pretty straight forward typepad design that doesn’t get changed much either. I mean, it’s okay. It’s fine. But is “best” = “plainest” template? I voted for Counting My Blessings.

For apologetics, I like Jimmy Akin’s blog. He won. But when I really want to know something quick I always go to Dave Armstrong. There’s no question!

So is it for best apologetics resources, references, presentation? Apparently the votors are going with presentation, at least according to the top seven in that category. I disagree.

The Best Individual Blog category just baffles me. Any Welborn’s Open Book won. I like that blog. Timely posts on current events and a lot of commenters because Amy is pretty well known. But then I also like Daily Danielle but for different reasons. It’s a mom/homebody/journal time of blog. It’s like asking which is better, apples, or a banana muffin. They’re both good, and good for you, but very different.

And frankly, I like the men and women being separate. Men and women think differently, they write differently, with different perspectives. I don’t get lumping it all together and asking us to choose!

I finally understand the “Insider Blog” category. They mean writer/journalist. Thought so.

The winner of the Best New Blog, I never heard of. I like Et Tu Jen and Minnesota Mom.

Best Overall Catholic Blog – top four all professional writers.
Best Political – eight of the top ten professionals.
Best Written – top four, professionals.

I think a more accurate name for this competition would be The Professional Catholic Writer’s Blog Awards. That’s my opinion and so far nothing has convinced me that I’m wrong on that.

Most spiritual and smartest – I’m not sure how you even go about judging that but apparently my criteria wasn’t even close!

I did like discovering new blogs and that was the most enjoyable part of the whole process for me.
