Today is the Feast of the Guardian Angels, those celestial beings who accompany us through life from conception until death, and whom no doubt will be there to welcome us at the end of our earthly pilgrimate at the end of our lives.

I always loved this image as a child, of the Guardian Angel being there to protect us from harm’s way.

I found some interesting information on the Guardian angels and more here

Some books you might want to go over with younger children include Regina Dorman’s book Angel in the Waters which is also beautifully illustrated.

The old Catholic Children’s Treasure Box books have an engaging story about a little guardian angel assigned to a little baby boy in Africa and shows children something we parents already know – being a guardian angel has to be a difficult job!

Adults and older children might be interested in some meatier articles!
