Martha’s Way

 

On preventing ice cream cone leaks:

Stuff a miniature marshmallow in the bottom of a sugar cone to prevent ice cream drips.

On keeping potatoes from budding:

To keep potatoes from budding, place an apple in the bag wiith the potatoes.

 

On flouring a cake pan:

When a cake recipe calls for flouring th baking pan, use a bit of the dry cake mix instead nadthere won’t be any white mess on the outside of the cake.

 

On accidentally oversalting a dish:

If you accidentally oversalt a dish while it’s still cooking, drop in a peeled potatoe and it will absorb the excess salt for aninstant “fix-me-up.”

 

On keeping celery fresh:

Wrap celery in alumnium foil when putting in the refrigerator and it will keep for weeks..

 

On making a beautiful pie crust:

Brush some beatn eagg white over pie crust before baking ito yield a beautiful glossy finish

 

 

On curing a headache:

Take a lime, cut it in ahlf and rub it on your forehead.  The throbbing will go away.

 

On opening jars:

Try using latex dishwashing gloves.  They give a non-slip grip that makes opening jars easy.

 

On what to do with leftover wine:

Don’t thorw out all that leftover wine.  Freeze into ice cubes for future use in casseroles and sauces.
