I found two very timely and interesting posts in the blogosphere this morning about mothers in the world, who place their ultimate faith and trust in God.

First the Penitent Blogger writes:

The conflict between Christians and “the world” does not occur only on the level of social movements or apocalyptic battles: it also occurs on the level of our everyday lives.

Elinor Dashwood blogs on her gut-level acceptance of the miracle of life given to her in her 4th son.

While he was in the NICU one of the specialists came to see me and broke it to me that he might possibly be brain-damaged. I remember in particular her telling me that I should always use the same sort of soap and powder, because he wasn’t responding to visual or aural stimuli, but that the sense of smell is very rarely lost, and he might learn to identify me by my scent. I had several hours alone in which to process this information, and to realize that this was where the big pro-lifer put her money where her moth was, and lived out her conviction that every life was of value, however impaired.

Powerful stuff!
