The Buzz on Pope Benedict!

I had a ball last night watching liberal Catholic commentors, such as Sister Chittister and others trying to find a way to soothe themselves after the election of Cardinal Ratzinger to Pope! At first I thought the good sister was going to have a stroke on national television, but apparently her copy of the liberal Catholic talking points arrived in time to give her a reason to keep living! The gist of it goes something like this – John XXIII was a conservative and proved himself to be a liberal, and the same thing could happen to this pope! Somehow I don’t think John XXIII would want his name even loosely associated with today’s liberal causes like abortion, birth control and gay marriage, but I digress.

The American Liberal left has latched on to the Popes brush with the Nazis, although failing to acknowledge that he was a child during that time period. Don’t confuse them with the facts though.

Evangelicals wonder what the heck is going on!

and for my liberal friend JCecil, losing the election to Bush in November and now this… it’s almost too much to bear!
