Writing a letter to your confirmation candidate

It seems that one of the biggest events in confirmation preparation in this country is the letters of support to be given to the confirmation candidates during their mandatory retreats.

I have three such letters saved on this blog:

I've asked my children what they remember about the letter they got from me and their dad, and also what they remembered about the letters they received.
The answer was not much, or at least nothing specific. In general they were happy to have gotten a bag full of letters and there was a sense of feeling loved and supported. The #Stations of the Cross are a wonderful way to delve a little deeper into the journey towards Easter. We meditate on Our Lord's journey toward Calvary and the Crucifixion, where Jesus suffered the ultimate sacrifice for our sins and embraced all of humanity in that sacrifice of love. This book is part of my family's Lenten Library. We don't read it all at once, but we do one station a night with our night prayers. I have special needs kiddos who have very short attention spans, so sometimes just getting through night prayers can be a huge struggle. Adding in one of the Stations each night is a do-able goal, and gives us some extra food for mind and soul. I would encourage you to find a way of incorporating the Stations of the Cross in to your Lenten Journey with your family in a way that is practical for your circumstances. Sometimes simply doing one little extra thing is a perfect start to a new tradition. -Celeste, @artisticceleste #cslentipj #day31 #Stations #cross #crucifixion #sacrifice #lent #Easter #specialneeds #prayer #family
