Thankfully swimming short course season is finally over!!!! WOOO HOOO!!!

And the kid did pretty good today at the championships. He improved all of his times but at least 1 second or 2 (which is really a big deal in the swim world). So although he didn’t place in the top 8, he was decently in the upper middle of the pack and we were proud of him!

Now I’m going to have a little time for me!! No more mad trips to the pool for practice every night between 5:30 and 8:00 p.m. with my 3 swimming dudes! I am really going to concentrate on loosing some weight before my birthday (which was one of my New Years Resolutions). Last year in March, I upped my Jazzerciseto 6 classes in 5 days and went from 212 to 187. Then – soccer season started and I was back to my 3 times a week schedule. I did manage to drop another 7 pounds by Christmas but at this rate I’ll loose the rest of my weight by atrophy and decay!!! Yuck!

So I clicked on my Weight Commander Programand figured out how much weight I can safely lose in time for my birthday. The Weight Commander says 30 pounds. That’s like 0.3 something pounds a day and when you put it that way it sounds doable.

I know I’m going to have some emotional issues at around 180. That will be the end of my baby fat for Raphael and I have a sad feeling about that. But on the other hand I’ve got some big events coming up this summer including my 25 th wedding anniversary. And I want to be in the water playing with the kids this year instead of sitting on the sidelines like a beached whale. Besides, if we do get pregnant again being down 30 to start would certainly be healthier all the way around.

So I’m psyched. My husband asked me today, (rather sheepishly) if I prayed about my weight. Honestly, I haven’t. And his question made me wonder why not. I guess too many other things have distracted me and it really hasn’t been a priority. I think the Raphael thing has had something to do with it too. I’ll have to think about it some more and maybe get the courage to pray about it too.
