Outside my window
march 2010 084
This is what it looked like on Saturday around these parts. It looks the same this morning – only colder and wetter.

I am thinking…
so we have National Health Care and all the Democrats in the house are acting like they did us all such a big favor. And on the surface there are a few things I am happy about. Sam will be 18 years old next year and if he wants to take a year off to CLEP and work I won’t have to worry about insuring him. Mr. Pete’s business looks like it will get some tax breaks too.

I guess I won’t mind waiting hours and hours in the doctor’s office with my kids (assuming I can get an appointment).  After all, I’ll have tons of new free time and no work after my physician/clients let me go or leave the business!

I am thankful for…
good health.

From the learning rooms
Honestly? I’m a little burned out. It would be fine with me if we took spring break this week but if I did that, then my kids would want spring break AGAIN when their friends are off. So I guess I’ll just suck it up and keep going. I particularly want Sam to focus on ACT preparation since he will be taking the test on April 11.

From the kitchen…
Chicken pasta salad.

I am wearing…
Black pants and black long-sleeved shirt.

I am creating…
a big hole in the laundry room as I search for the soccer shirts from last fall that no body can seem to find.

I am going…
get the very last of my mother’s stuff out of storage and then cancel my contract with the storage place. They were awesome and her stuff was in great condition. I also have to file mom’s taxes.  Today is 9 months since her death which means they have to be filed with the probate court as well. And then… finally, I think the busy work of managing mom’s estate will be over.  I feel good and bad about that.  I won’t miss the stress but in a way it’s like her life is over, she really really is gone and not coming back.  It’s a little sad.

I am reading…
I’m reviewing Bravewriter and Help for High School

I am hoping…
to start the “Get Rid of the Jiggle! Upper Body Shape-up Rotation” with the Firm this week because I have most of the tapes!
It includes my favorite The Firm: Calorie Killer and The Firm: Upper Body Sculpt

I told Mr. Pete he’ll have to carry the laundry baskets up starting Wednesday because it takes the lactic acid in my muscle that long to start complaining!  But after 24 hours or so of that I should be fine.

I am hearing…
Gabe take a shower.

Around the house…

Cleaning up from the birthday bash – Mr. Pete and Noah both celebrated their birthdays yesterday!

Sam and Gabe also “Auditioned” a little girl to be the singer for their band.  They’d been talking about it for weeks!! and I never thought they would actually do it but they found her on line months ago and she finally came over to sing for them.  She was really nervous too which cracks me up because … well because she was auditioning for Sam and Gabe!!  But they liked her so a band is born I guess.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
finish cleaning my office, hit my goal for my typing and getting a lot of laundry done and losing two pounds!
