Outside my window
Gray skies and lots of cloud cover – what happened to spring?

I am thinking…
about everything I have to do to finish up my mother’s taxes, my taxes, my mother’s estate. I just cannot WAIT until this is all done. I still think about my mom a lot. I have some of her voice mails still saved in my system and yesterday I listened to them. I still miss her so much. Maybe getting all of this busy work done will help ease that a bit.

I am thankful …
for my parish family and that how blessed my family is to have such a vibrant youth group. A few years ago, when we were barely scratching by, our homeschool youth group was making it harder and harder for us to be active in it. Gas prices were very high, the meetings were a considerable distance away and all of the activities cost money – When your food budget for the week is $120, then $65 for a retreat seems like a lot. So I felt that we were basically forced out of the group and then voila, our parish youth group became revitalized and very active and my teens loved being a part of it. It really is true about God closing a door and opening a window – at least in this case.

From the learning rooms
Just signed Sam up for the Bravewriter ACT writing course to start June 1.
Sam also watched Twelfth Night last week and is working along on his other subjects.  I finally checked up on his Rosetta Stone Spanish  and was pleased to find that he is consistently getting scores in the 90s! Good job!

From the kitchen…
Roast of some sort.  Mr. Pete went on a meat buying frenzy when I neglected to give him a shopping list!
.
I am wearing…

Black pants, black shirt, black hoodie, and walking shoes.

I am creating…
a good focused homeschool week as well as some special memories for the two big feast days this week!

I am going…
to get at least three workouts in this week.  I tried Five Day Abs on Saturday. Thought it was a waste of time as I didn’t feel anything until today when I woke up really sore.  Funny thing about getting older. It use to be if I had a tough workout I would feel it the next day. Now it takes two days to hurt.  It’s kind of strange.

I am reading…
starting

The Hand of God: A Journey from Death to Life by the Abortion Doctor Who Changed His Mind  The Hand of God: A Journey from Death to Life by the Abortion Doctor Who Changed His Mind

I’m half way through, at the part when the talk about the part about dehumanizing the baby in the womb to make it easier to kill. That is a big part of pro-choice arguments.
I am hoping…
to meet my weight loss goal for the week.I’ve made them much more realistic!

I am hearing…
ears buzz and computer hum!

Around the house…

I have almost all of the boxes from mom’s storage area in my basement – We are slowly but surely going through them. I will be so happy when that is done and when her taxes are finished and the estate is closed. Doing all of this sort of stuff I think has prolonged and in a way intensified my grief forher.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
Empty the storage area AND get my basement cleared of all mom’s stuff!  I play a concert on Sunday AND I have two birthdays to plan!

A picture I am sharing:

I played with this picture a bit.  This is Gabe being confirmed by Bishop Lennon with his sponsor’s arm around him and that beautiful little boy looking on from the background is his brother Noah!
