Outside My Window

Will it finally bloom? Will it ever get warm? Do you think it will snow again?

I am thinking…
I have a concert this week. So I have been watching all kinds of videos about how to prepare for a concert, what to do on concert day and how to do your best. It seems the best thing you should do, I have already done – practice, practice, practice!  I’ve practiced so much that I think if I were to miss a note, my family could back me up with vocals. They know these pieces as well as I do now – at least by ear!

So last night I finally ran through the entire concert – in heels!  It occurred to me that I can’t stand for the entire thing just wearing my trainers (although that would be great!) So I wore my fancy shoes that I wore to Calvin’s wedding.

They didn’t hurt. I could definitely stand and play. They’ll  probably feel even better when I’m wearing panty hose with them.  But walking around in them with my knee being a little weak was different. I might be wearing my pretty dress, my silver shoes, and my knee sleeve! What a fashion statement.

I am thankful…
that my mom let me learn an instrument. It hs given me so much enjoyment in life. I passed that on to my own children – and it’s taking one of my son’s, Noah, to Italy next month to sing with his college choir! What a neat adventure.

I am pondering…
what’s next after this concert.

I didn’t have to ponder long. I’ve been accepted as a speaker for an online homeschool conference this summer. Stay tuned to that!

I’m also trying out for another online homechool teaching job. Stay tuned for that as well.

One of my Favorite Things…

Rosie decorating my music stand for my concert.

I am hearing…
Rosie practicing her piano lesson.

In the kitchen…
Turkey soup.

I am wearing…
Gray pants, black thermal shirt, gray hoodie.

I am going…

  • I’m just walking this week. I got about a mile and a half on Sunday before my knee started to ache a little bit and I didn’t want to get stranded with a sore knee. But I made it back and it didn’t hurt at all. I easily recovered. Yesterday I walked the dog and that went well too. I will resume my weight lifting next week after the concert.

MISS C
My Granddaughter is in the Five-in-a- Row curriculum at Co-op and we try to follow through on the days she is with me.

This week in Five-in-a-Row they will be reading

Maryrose:

Children’s Choir at Oaks of Righteousness Co-Op and with the parish choir.

Rosie is also taking a writing class online using the Once Upon a Time Saint series as the writing
prompt.

We have a schedule!  Rosie writes her history paper every Monday based on what she has read in her history the week before. Also on Monday, she reads her assignment in Once Upon a Saint. Then on Tuesday she writes her assignment for that class and turns in her paper. Thursday is for revisions.

This semester she is also going to do drama – Pride and Predjudice – the musical!
A tweet to share…

Do to my concert this week, I’m going to be doing a lot of “Best ofs” this week. I hope you enjoy them.
