I am thinking...

about my nephew's wedding this past weekend in East Lansing, Michigan.  Wedding at St. Gerard's.

Reception at the East Lansing Country Club!

Only had the girls with us, but had a very nice time seeing other family members and catching up.

I am thankful...
for a safe trip to Michigan up and back  three time this summer! Mr. Pete is a skilled driver and I'm very blessed that he doesn't ask me to take a turn behind the wheel on the freeway!

I am pondering...
whether or not I should tempt fate and try to get to my class reunion next weekend - which would make it a fourth trip! or should we just stay home and try to get this flip house ready for Gabe to move into the end of August?

One of my Favorite things

This little grand niece didn't know us at all, but she certainly took a liking to Rosie - her first cousin once removed!

Rosie wasn't quite sure what to do with her new playmate, but it was so cute to see how quickly the little nieces and warmed up to her.

I am hearing...
A little tinnitus, but nothing too bad.

In the kitchen...
Easy in the kitchen this week - We are working every day on the flip house so dinner time has got to be easy!

I am wearing...
shorts and a T-shirt. Ready to take Rosie to cross country practice.

I am going...
  • to walk or work out every day with Pfilates, arms and abs! With all the scraping and painting in the flip house- arm workout is no problem
  • to cut my carbs via the Wheat Belly Total Health: The Ultimate Grain-Free Health and Weight-Loss Life Plan recommendations.
  • Practicing Bach's Sonata in E flat.
  • Plan my General Science class.  I have the syllabus done, now I have to make a shopping list.
  • Handling registrations for our co-op - which is an organized nightmare! When will the late registrations stop!!
  • Start planning Rosie's homeschool schedule.

I am reading...
Last year when we went on vacation, we listened to Peter and the Starcatchers on an audiobook. This was read by Jim Dale, the awesome narrator who also did the Harry Potter books. We enjoyed it so much last year, that this year, we listened to the sequel.

This was also a great story and kept us captivated all the way up to Michigan and back. We will definitely do the next book for our next long car trip!

From the Learning Rooms...
Adobe Spark

Finally got Rosie's letter from the superintendent that she is excused from compulsory attendance.  Our 22 year of homeschooling is about to start!

To celebrate the feast days, Rosie made a St. Anne peg saint and one for St. John Vianney too!

Planning some literature books for our school year around the Boomerang and Arrow at Bravewriter

We found out about Noah's scholarship - and if I'm reading his financial statement correctly, Mr. Pete and I will not have to pay anything for his tuition this year. He still has a few student loans, but his scholarship wiped out our  out-of-pocket part completely. That's quite a gift to us, especially since I am without my medical transcription gig any more.

A quote to share...
Seems appropriate -

We should live, act, and say nothing to the injury of anyone. It is not only best as a matter of principle, but it is the path to peace and honor.
