My Lent 2019 Book List Plans

Is this the year you really want to dive into Lent? Do you want to come out of this Lenten Season and truly feel that you've had a small share of living in the desert with Christ for 40 days? I know that I do. Maybe it's an upcoming birthday that's making me have more of a now-or-never type of attitude towards Lent. Or maybe I just acutely feel the necessity of truly modeling this for my children, and living it with my husband. Whatever it is, these are the books and resources I'm going to use this Lent to really LIVE the season from Ash Wednesday all the way through to Easter Vigil. Look them over. If something looks helpful to you, use it. If it inspires you, go with it. I hope all of these bless and encourage you.

Outside my window...

I am thinking...
about the hypocrisy of some on the left, who want to call out the violence of racists and xenophobes on the right without acknowledging the riot and assaults on the left. I had one discussion with some folks on Facebook that went to over 100 comments (everyone knows that Facebook has the worst kind of system for these kinds of discussions and they should NEVER go that long) and the neither the hostess or her friends would admit that this was a problem on both sides.

I am thankful...
the election is over.

I am pondering...
the words of this guy - a British comedian and political commenter, who is also a liberal - but he actually gets it!!  What's needed, what has always been needed is discussion and actual fair debate without shaming, shout downs, gang ups or threats.

Fair warning - there is a lot of profanity in this video, but it's worth a listen.

I am hearing...
the fan on my computer, which is probably about to go out, which really ticks me off because I just up two new fans in this computer.

In the kitchen...
Chili cheese potatoes tonight.

I am wearing...
my workout clothes. I got up this morning, put in my FIRM video and went at it for 3t minutes. Then I put in an old Jazzercise video to work my biceps  and triceps more. I feel great.

I am going...
One of my favorite things...

I am reading...

I am teaching the class for co-op next semester.
