My Lent 2019 Book List Plans

Is this the year you really want to dive into Lent? Do you want to come out of this Lenten Season and truly feel that you've had a small share of living in the desert with Christ for 40 days? I know that I do. Maybe it's an upcoming birthday that's making me have more of a now-or-never type of attitude towards Lent. Or maybe I just acutely feel the necessity of truly modeling this for my children, and living it with my husband. Whatever it is, these are the books and resources I'm going to use this Lent to really LIVE the season from Ash Wednesday all the way through to Easter Vigil. Look them over. If something looks helpful to you, use it. If it inspires you, go with it. I hope all of these bless and encourage you.

The leaves look like they want to turn, but not quite yet. This is the scene for Rosie's championship meet last Sunday.

I am thinking...
that my oldest son has found several effective new ways to torture me.

You wouldn't think that an adult child living eight hours away would be able to have such an effect on day-to-day life.  But my son is creative!  Last week he and his wife decided to visit Disney World in Orlando, Florida and then, they decided to stay right there during Hurricane Matthew! So yea, I lost a fair amount of sleep from waking up to check the Weather Channel and check news reports and say some prayers.

I did however, manage to refrain from constant texting and calling.

Then, there's this:

If you drop the age card on me, turnabout is fair play!

I am thankful...
that we have had a wonderful autumn, with mostly moderate temperatures and just enough rain!

I am pondering...
the election and my family.

It seems that one of my sons is going to vote for Gary Johnson, one for the Green Party, and one is going to abstain from voting for the President, but vote the rest of the ballot. One of my sons is working so many hours I'm not sure he is even aware that this is an election year!

I am hearing...
the air conditioner and Rosie singing in the next room

In the kitchen...
Ground turkey meatballs

I am wearing...
black boots, black pants, black workout shirt under long loose stitched long-sleeved sweater. I am going to the doctor today and I want to make a good impression!

I am going...
