I know I probably should have posted this a week ago or so, but better late than never right?

We did have a small family gathering on Fat Tuesday, to get ready for the Lenten season.  I wasn’t going to do much of anything at all, but the girls wouldn’t hear of it!!   And that’s the thing about starting family traditions- the kids just look forward to them as they should.

Rosie and Izzy wanted to make masks this year for our home Mardi Gras and that wasn’t too hard to do.  I purchased some plain masks at Pat Catan’s as well as some rhinestones, feathers, pom poms and other trims.  For the mask handles, we used straws. Of course we also used glue sticks, liquid glue and lots and lots of hot glue!

No party is complete without Cake! Izzy made this cake and used some of the flowers she had left over from her cake class.

A good time was had by all – and as I understand it the feasting kept the boys from getting too hungry until midmorning on Ash Wednesday!
