My Lent 2019 Book List Plans

Is this the year you really want to dive into Lent? Do you want to come out of this Lenten Season and truly feel that you've had a small share of living in the desert with Christ for 40 days? I know that I do. Maybe it's an upcoming birthday that's making me have more of a now-or-never type of attitude towards Lent. Or maybe I just acutely feel the necessity of truly modeling this for my children, and living it with my husband. Whatever it is, these are the books and resources I'm going to use this Lent to really LIVE the season from Ash Wednesday all the way through to Easter Vigil. Look them over. If something looks helpful to you, use it. If it inspires you, go with it. I hope all of these bless and encourage you.

I am thinking...
My baby girl is going to be confirmed on Friday.  Confirmed.  An adult in the church and also a full member of the Catholic Church.  Didn't she just make her first communion?

I am thankful ...
my family and for Mr. Pete.  We have grown up together, and raised a family together and now we are hopefully going to grow old together.  I look forward to the adventure.

From the learning rooms...

  • Reading Patron Saint of First Communicants: The Story of Blessed Imelda Lambertini (Stories of the Saints for Young People Ages 10 to 100) to Rosie.

  • From the kitchen...
Chicken dinner tonight, pancakes for Wednesday during Lent, probably tacos Thursday and then a big Mac and cheese/fish dinner for Izzy's confirmation dinner.

    I am wearing...
Black pants, grey shirt and pink hoodie jacket.

    I am creating...
a clean home and order for the big dinner on Friday night. Izzy's sponsor is coming over as are extended family and friends.

    I am going...
to be lucky to get one workout in this week.  Hoping to get in a walk during piano lessons.

    I am reading...

    For Lent!
Also got Scott Hahn's new Lenten book for my Kindle.

    I am hearing...
the buzzing in my ears, he hum of the computer.

    A Picture to share...

    St. Sebastian's Confirmation 2007

A picture of the church for confirmation a few years ago.  It is always a big deal when the bishop comes for confirmation!
