Cold returns to Ohio – again!

I am thinking…
About Rosie’s tummy. She had two days of vomiting last week. Then her tummy started to feel better, but not 100%. On Saturday she played soccer but by the afternoon the tummy pain was back. She even had to walk out of the Children’s mass that she was singing for because of a tummy ache.

When I was a kid I had tummy aches all the time. They weren’t sharp and stabbing – just dull, vague, and annoying. In fourth grade I had a barium swallow and x-rays but they never found anything to be the problem. I eventually learned to comfort myself with a hot bath or by lying on my pillow. I certainly hope we don’t go down this road with Rosie!

I am thankful for…
Julie Bogart and her Brave Writer Program. Brave Writer was the first homeschooling program I read that said it was okay for me to do crazy stuff with my kids, like watch a movie, or have tea and enjoy art. It gave me a lot more freedom in my homeschool. Last week the Great Homeschool Convention folks decided not to include Julie as a speaker or vendor because someone found her personal blog which is not exactly Conservative Evangelical Christian. As I told Julie on her BW blog, when I go to a homeschool convention, I want to be able to see the best products out there for the task at hand – whether that be for teaching writing, algebra or science! Since GHC doesn’t seem to be willing to provide that, it’s doubtful that I will ever go out of my way to attend their convention. Instead I am looking forward to seeing Julie’s new language arts program that comes out next week. Believe it of not, it seems like it might just be something I can use with my two daughters – even though they are 6 years apart!

    From the kitchen…

Nachos tonight- pot roast tomorrow and turkey burritos on Tuesday!

    I am wearing…
Black workout pants, mauve turtle neck, and New Balance shoes!

    I am creating…
some ideas for mother’s day for the godmothers in a few weeks.

    I am going…
to get four workouts in this week. Got four in last week! I can still feel the kettle bell workout in my legs!

If we get those 6 inches of snow- doubt I’ll be getting extra walks in too!

    I am hoping….
Rosie feels better and that we don’t have to go to the doctor this week.  Also that Sam gets the job he applied for on Friday, and that Calvin can keep up all of the hard work he is doing until he graduates on June 22 from paramedic school.

    I am hearing…
    Humm of the computer

    Around the house…
Mr.Pete and I picked out a new floor for our bathroom – it looks like a brand new place with the paint and the floor!
