Outside my window
Very mild for this time of year.

Unfortunately, they are repaving the city street I live on so I have to keep Rosie in for most of the day – that is a real bummer for her. It’s also hard for her not to have many day light hours and to have to be in by 7. She really enjoyed her summer of running up and down the street, barefoot with her friends.

I am thinking…
that what comes after the fall sports season – the Christmas concert season!!

I am thankful …
for the time God has given me.

From the learning rooms
Noah finished his  Rosetta Stone Latin 1.  Now it’s up to Gabe to finish up so I can load Rosetta Stone Latin 2 on a new computer.

Noah and Gabe are also working on Early Church History course from Homeschool Connections.  I also have a Latin course there for Noah to explore until they are ready for Rosetta Stone Latin2.

Gabe needs to finish two chapters in Science this week and take the tests.

Izzy and I are reading and doing copy work through the Little House in the Big Woods and this week we are going to make corncob dolls.  She is doing well in her Saxon Math. I have her reading a new book about Louis Braille that is especially designed for older kids who have had reading issues.  I think she’ll do fine.We are also studying the Skeletal System.

Noah and Gabe are reading Huckleberry Finn and answering the questions for each chapter from Lightening Literature.

Hopefully Sam will take the Biology test in CLEP this week.

From the kitchen…
Hamburger casserole tonight!

I am wearing…
Black pants and T..

I am creating…
the cross country pizza party – because no one else stepped up to do it and because I have enjoyed it so much in the past.

What troubles me is that with Izzy having her last year next year, and then Rosie starting after that – does that mean I have to organize the party for the next 8 years?

I am going…
to try to work some extra prayer time into my days.  Praying for:

  • Calvin- who isn’t living at home but isn’t really on his own yet either. Living with your girlfriend’s family does not equate to being independent. And sometimes I really wonder why they allow this?
  • Gabe – who just never seems to get his school work done.
  • Noah who is preparing for confirmation.
  • Izzy – who cried yesterday when her brothers were picking on her a bit too much. .
  • Rosie- who needs to learn to play by herself a little bit better.
  • Mr. Pete – who is always working.

I am reading…
Huck Finn with my kids.

I am hoping…
to start practicing again to prepare for the Christmas concert season.
Also to keep exercising this week.

I am looking forward to…
nothing.  I’m kinda happy where I am!.

Around the house…
getting my  clean classroom in order and organizing the very very last of Mom’s books. Why is it that every project that includes things from my late mother takes me so long to accomplish?
