Writing a letter to your confirmation candidate

It seems that one of the biggest events in confirmation preparation in this country is the letters of support to be given to the confirmation candidates during their mandatory retreats.

I have three such letters saved on this blog:

Confirmation letter to my daughterConfirmation letter to my fourth sonConfirmation letter to to my third son
I've asked my children what they remember about the letter they got from me and their dad, and also what they remembered about the letters they received.
The answer was not much, or at least nothing specific. In general they were happy to have gotten a bag full of letters and there was a sense of feeling loved and supported. I guess that's the main thing - for them to have a sense that this is an important step in their spiritual growth, and that people they know, love and respect have taken the time out of their lives to let them know that! So here are some tips on procuring and writing letters for young confirmation candidates. Start thinkin…

I am thinking...
About the concert we did for Lessons and Carols yesterday.  I performed in the midst of my family of musicians, and also musicians who were also my family!   Sam, Gabe, Noah, Izzy and even Little Rosie contributed something to the program yesterday.

I am thankful ...
for the gift of music!
From the learning rooms...
I have Jim Dale Performs A Christmas Carol that I think we will listen to this week.  I hope to keep up math, reading and h istory and keep Sam studying his CLEP materials.

From the kitchen...
A Mexican Casserole!

I am wearing...
Gray pants, white shirt, black vest!

I am remembering:
Mama - always.  I seriously need to get out to the cemetery this week for Raphael and Mom.  Mr. Pete found a little angel for Raphael's grave.  It was only $6 so I got it.  People feel free to take things off of grave sites, so I didn't really want to spend a lot on it.
I am creating...
Videos from yesterday's performance for Youtube.

I am going...
to try to get a couple of workouts in the next few weeks, concentrating on the Transfirmer workouts.

I am reading...
Little House Christmas

I am hoping...
to get my Christmas Cards out this week!

I am hearing...
Sam playing guitar.  The buzzing in my ears was almost unbearable last week, but it has quieted down a bit. I noted on Saturday when I worked out really hard the buzzing disappeared.  I wonder what the connection is for that.

Around the house...
making way for the Christmas Tree!

A picture I am sharing:
Since this was the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe yesterday, I put out these cute salt and pepper shakers that I found at an antique store.  They just reminded me of Juan Diego!
