Simple Woman

Outside my window...
A little cooler but rainy today.  It was a beautiful weekend though!

LaVictoire reunion 2010
This is Mr. Pete running to first!

I am thinking...
about the wonderful family reunion we attended over the weekend and how nice it was to see everyone again.

Our reunions on Mr. Pete's side always follow a set pattern
Greetings and conversation.
Organized games
Water balloon toss
Softball game

and everyone knows that and looks forward to it!

I am thankful ...
that we made the four hour trip to the reunion up and back without incident.

From the learning rooms...
Everyone does math and reading.  I think I am going to start the next set of Melissa Wiley's Little house series with Izzy and Rosie. We have two more states to cover this week and some history.

From the kitchen...
I'm trying some recipes from the Campbell's Kitchen for summer recipes!

I am wearing...
Black capris, purple T

I am creating...
gray capris and a black shirt

I am going...
to do the The Firm: The Transfirmer Series Jiggle Free Abs workout this week along with some of the other Transfirmer DVDs I bought on Amazon.

I am reading...
A Simple Guide to the Spiritual Life which is a good read by the way.
I also bought Gut Check: Confronting Love, Work, and Manhood in Your Twenties for Calvin's birthday, but I'm reading it - so far it is very good!

I am hoping...
to get homeschooling and my workouts in.I am also hoping to get the hang of the Divine Office by myself!  I finally figured out how to get the readings and hymns on my MVP player and I can even follow along in the book, but certain things still elude me - like where the heck in volume III is the Canticle of Zechariah?

I am hearing...
the humm of the air conditioner.

Today when I was reading the office though, this stuck in my head:  "I want a loving heart more than sacrifice, knowledge of my ways more than holocausts."

Around the house...
would it be possible to finish this last pile of stuff from Mom... sigh...
