Writing a letter to your confirmation candidate

It seems that one of the biggest events in confirmation preparation in this country is the letters of support to be given to the confirmation candidates during their mandatory retreats.

I have three such letters saved on this blog:

Confirmation letter to my daughterConfirmation letter to my fourth sonConfirmation letter to to my third son
I've asked my children what they remember about the letter they got from me and their dad, and also what they remembered about the letters they received.
The answer was not much, or at least nothing specific. In general they were happy to have gotten a bag full of letters and there was a sense of feeling loved and supported. I guess that's the main thing - for them to have a sense that this is an important step in their spiritual growth, and that people they know, love and respect have taken the time out of their lives to let them know that! So here are some tips on procuring and writing letters for young confirmation candidates. Start thinkin…

Outside my window...
It's beautiful! Blue skies, trees beginning to bud out!

I am thinking...
about the wonderful Easter we had yesterday! We had all attended mass for the Easter Vigil so Mr. Pete and I didn't have to go to mass on Easter Day, but Sam and Gabe had to sing again with the choir and they had to be there at 8:30a.m.! But that just encouraged me to get up and get ready for the day.

We put the two extra leaves in our table and it extended out into the living room. The little kids literally had to go out the front door and run around the side of the house to come to the buffet to get their food! It was great and so much fun to have a full table. I couldn't help but think how much my mom and my grandparents would have loved seeing that group - all of their grandchildren eating together. They would have loved it I'm sure.

I am thankful for...
wonderful family and a chance to get together. We are truly blessed.

From the learning rooms...
what the heck- spring break - part 2. Although Sammy is hitting the ACT Prep site getting ready for the ACT test on Saturday morning. This will be our baseline test and will determine if we have to take it again or not. Sam is also signed up for the ACT writing class with Bravewriter starting in June. I didn't sign him up for the writing portion this time, but I will next time.

From the kitchen...
Turkey Burritos today, Chicken cordon Bleu casserole on Tuesday and ham and cheese roll up son Wednesday

I am wearing...
Black pants and black a black T-shirt - thought I'd change it up a little!

I am creating...
a consistent workout routine. I walked 3 miles this morning in an hour and I'm doing the Calorie Killer this afternoon with upper body sculpt.

I am going...
be a fiend on the laundry and picking through the rest of my mom's stuff. I'm even thinking of having a big book sale of her religious books, although I might do better on Cath Swap than eBay with those. I'm also going to be cleaning out my classroom so there will be some items for sale there as well.

I am reading...
I'm reviewing Bravewriter and Help for High School

I am hoping...
to do that  "Get Rid of the Jiggle! Upper Body Shape-up Rotation" with the Firm again this week.
Will also be starting to get The FIRM Female Fat Zones Rotation starting with Tight Buns and Killer Legs

I am hearing...

Around the house...
