My Lent 2019 Book List Plans

Is this the year you really want to dive into Lent? Do you want to come out of this Lenten Season and truly feel that you've had a small share of living in the desert with Christ for 40 days? I know that I do. Maybe it's an upcoming birthday that's making me have more of a now-or-never type of attitude towards Lent. Or maybe I just acutely feel the necessity of truly modeling this for my children, and living it with my husband. Whatever it is, these are the books and resources I'm going to use this Lent to really LIVE the season from Ash Wednesday all the way through to Easter Vigil. Look them over. If something looks helpful to you, use it. If it inspires you, go with it. I hope all of these bless and encourage you.

The Simple Woman

Outside my window...
Bitterly cold - the kind of cold that makes the dog refuse to go outside even though we all know that she has to pee badly!

I am thinking...
about the start of our new year and how I really and truly hope to make some positive changes in my prayer life, fitness and homeschool.  The key for me, I think is going to be getting to bed by 10 pm. and up by 5 a.m. If I can make that change I know a lot of good things will come from it!

I am thankful for...
my best friend Twana, who is always there for me and always full of good advice and wisdom.

From the learning rooms...
We continue with The Screwtape Letters and A Philadelphia Catholic in King James's Court with Gabe in preparation for confirmation.  I am also going to do a unit on the great state of Kansas this week and move on to the circulatory system in science.

From the kitchen...
Chilli for sure!!

I am wearing...
Black pants and red top with black jacket.

I am creating...
a clean house for the New Year holidays- it looks gorgeous!

I am going...

to rehearsal to night for my last performace with the PT choir for next weekend.  And then my performing responsibilities for the most part, are over for another year.

I am reading...

The Divine Office for Dodos: A Step-By-Step Guide to Praying the Liturgy of the Hours

I am hoping...
to have a good school week this week and make a dent on the laundry that I have neglected through the holidays!

I am hearing...
kids banging doors.

Around the house...

everyone is watching t.v. or playing. Mr. Pete is grocery shopping and Sam is at mass.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
to ease in back to normal life after the quieter time of the holiday season.
