How Jon and Kate can save their marriage.

I watched the highly anticipated Jon and Kate Plus 8 Premiere last night. As a recap, Jon has recently been spotted partying with a young woman without his wedding ring on. Tabloids have also written that Kate is having some type of a relationship with her body guard. Last night, instead of Jon and Kate sitting together on the familiar couch, they sat individually complaining, whining, and crying about the state of their marriage as they prepared for their sextuplets' fifth birthday party. What a mess.

I tend to be a hopeless romantic. I think most marriages can be saved if both parties want to save them. And judging by what Jon and Kate said about and to each other just last year, they can still save their marriage!

First of all, I think if I were them I'd watch this wedding video a few more times and talk about what their written vows meant to them then and now.

I'd suggest they also get a hold of the movie, Fireproof and perhaps even work through the Fireproof program together under the guidance of their clergyman.

Finally I would hope that they would ask, "How do the Duggars do it?" Jim and Michelle Duggar are older, have been married longer and have more kids! Plus, they know what it is like to have a reality t.v. show on TLC.

I see a number of things they could do like the Duggars right away that might help their marriage.
1. Don't go out of the house to party with young females. Jim Bob would never do that. Just sayin.
2. When the Duggars do a book tour, they all do it, or Michelle and Jim Bob go together. You'd never see Michelle Duggar going off alone on a book tour with a handsome body guard.
3. Less is more. The Duggars go out to Goodwill and yard sales. They try to save money as much as they can. Jon and Kate do ultra expensive birthday parties and buy lots of junk at Toys R Us. Maybe if they economized more they wouldn't feel like they had to do this reality show that is starting to drive the wedge in their marriage.
4. Kate should maybe spend a little less time on her appearance and more time on being nice to Jon. Michelle Duggar dresses plainly and simply and treats her husband with love and respect, and he reciprocates. I think there has to be a big priority shift.
