Outside my window
Gray, and muddy.

I am thinking…
about my mom.  I sort of had to get firm with her yesterday that if she wants to live a bit longer, she’s going to have to fight a bit harder!  It was not easy for me to speak to her that way and I think she was a bit bemused that I did, but she just seems so willing to follow the ebb and flow of this disease instead of resisting it even a little bit.  It’s just hard for me to take sometimes.

I am thankful for…Lent. A time of penance and reflection.  What a shame that so many of the other Christian traditions don’t have this time before Easter to prepare.

From the learning rooms…Sam prepares for CLEP in American History – to be taken two weeks from today!  Izzy finishing up her math book and working with the other kids on their subjects.

From the kitchen…Mr. Pete was waiting for me yesterday and while he waited he was perusing a Cambell’s cookbook I had on the table.  By the time I was ready he had three or four recipes picked out for me to try!!I only know one of them has barley in it – sounds delicious!  Oh and for Friday of Lent- Stuffed Shells!!

I am wearing… a knit jumper with a white longsleeved knit hoodie shirt underneath.

I am creating… hopefully an interesting blog post for later today on Lenten projects that we have done in the past.

I am going… for a walk today. It’s supposed to get into the 50s!

I am reading…
How to Win Any Argument
and
Bud, Not Buddy

I am LOVING How to Win any Argument.  The author has so many really funny anecdotes and ideas.  This isn’t a book about how to beat anybody down, but it is really more of a book about understanding human nature and how to be a good listener.  I am thoroughly enjoying it.

I am hoping…that I can find the grave of that little baby this week. I have some other requests to fill for Find a Grave as well in different cemeteries.  I tried to fill one last week, but it turns out the office for that particularly cemetery was NOT on the cemetery grounds.  I think I’m going to rule that one out from now on. I’m not driving miles away to an office and then going back to the actual cemetery!

I am hearing…my normal low ear buzz. and someone is up getting breakfast.

Around the house…we are officially in the Lenten season.

A few plans for the rest of the week:Making it to at least one extra mass this week, Stations of the Cross and our St. Paul: Jubilee Year of the Apostle Paul Edition: A Bible Study for Catholics

My great-aunt would have been 96-years-old later this month. I took this photo of my 11- and 4-year-old daughters holding her hand when we took them to visit her in hospice last night. She passed away about 5 hours later.

The photo was taken with my BlackBerry. I didn’t have my camera with me, but I’m glad I was able to capture this image
