Simple woman

Outside my Window...it is pitch black. I think I like doing this Simple Woman meme at the end of the day instead of the beginning. I feel more peaceful about taking the time to type it somehow.

I am thinking...about this is the last week of cross country. I wonder who will miss it more, me or the kids? I am also thinking about the American Revolution since we are studying that. So much of what caused the bad feelings between the colonies and England was a simple "failure to communicate." I wonder if they had had the telephone, or even the telegraph if things could have gone differently.

From the learning rooms...Today I made all the kids watch this PBS documentary on the Revolutionary War - I think it was very well done and it really helped solidify in Sam's mind the facts he has learned about the pre-Revolutionary period. My younger kids and I started Johnny Tremain today, and Sam is still working on The Scarlet Letter.

I am thankful for...great weather and falling gas prices!!

From the kitchen...I have all of my meals for the week done. They are cooked and in the fridge - I don't have to do any more cooking this week- just heat and eats! I love it when I'm ahead of the game for a change!

I am wearing... shorts and a 20 year old T-shirt that I absolutely love to wear when I have a lot of work to do..

I am reading...


I am hoping...to keep ahead on my typing this week and to get a lot done in homeschool

I am hearing...Sam playing a 50's style rock and roll piece on the piano! Sounds a little like Jerry Lee Lewis!
