3) The Morning Fifteen

Use the first fifteen minutes of your morning as a period for education. If you find yourself too groggy, you might want to wait a short time. Just don’t put it off later in the day where urgent activities will push it out of the way.

Following up on the lifelong learning list, I’m beginning to think that perhaps those first 15 to 30 minutes per day are the most crucial! It’s a time for praying, reading, and organizing and even learning.

Unknowingly I have sort of programmed into my first 15 minutes of computer time during the day. I have the daily mass readings right on my blog that I can easily access for my scripture time. Educationally I subscribe to Peterson’s word of the Day. That way I can introduce a new vocabulary word to my children, but when I read the synonyms I almost always learn something new myself!

I also like to read the widgets in my homeschool blog to get This Day in History, Quote of the Day, and more.

All in all, a pretty fun and educational way to get going in the morning!
