Prayers for Frankie!

I’ve asked Julie at the Happy Catholic to help me with this.

I know this wonderful little girl named Francesca, Frankie for short. Her wonderful mother found out that Frankie had a cardiac birth defect when she was pregnant with her. The word went out and our entire homeschool group prayed for Frankie and her family. The little girl was not supposed to be born alive. Then she was only supposed to live for a short time. But Frankie kept on fighting and living and making everyone around her fall in love with her!

Last August she made it to her second birthday! She is at a health weight and she has her own personality and a strong will! Her mother shared with me this fall that Frankie got tired of the nurse who was hovering over her all of the time, so Frankie pulled the pen out of the nurse’s pocket and threw it. When the nurse went to go retrieve her pen, Frankie ran in the opposite direction! She is smart and fiesty!

In January, Frankie and her mom will leave their home to go up to Michigan so that Frankie can have her heart repaired. It is a dangerous operation for Frankie. It is also very hard on the family that will be separated for many weeks, and for Frankie’s mom and dad who will be separated during that time while they watch over Frankie and her brothers and sisters.

So I am asking for a few things! If you could keep Frankie and her family in your prayers this holiday season and throughout the time of her surgery (I’ll keep you posted) that would be the best gift of all. We need to blanket this little one and her family in prayer.

The mother, who already has spent countless hours in hospitals over these past two years, would really appreciate any inspirational tapes or books that can help her keep her spirits up and encourage her during this difficult time period.

Lastly, she keeps everyone posted over on Frankie’s site. If you could send encouragement over there, I know that would really help over the coming days and weeks.
