Biggest loser drops 157 lbs.

Matt Hoover lost almost half his body weight and gained the title of the Biggest Loser 2.

MATT HOOVER
On Nov. 29's finale of the NBC weight loss show, the 28-year-old former wrestling champion from Iowa tipped the scales at 182 lbs., down 157 lbs. from his starting weight of 339 lbs.

I did everything I could to prepare for this, he said before getting on the scale for his final weigh-in.

A legend back in his hometown, Hoover was an NCAA wrestling champion from Iowa State in his glory days.

Now, as the winner of Biggest Loser 2, Hoover has been awarded $250,000 US and something he says is much more important his health.

Ive been sober for nine months tonight, he told the crowd.

Runners up Seth Ward and Suzy Preston didnt walk away empty-handed. They won $50,000 US and $25,000 US respectively for their unbelievable transitions since the show began nine months ago.

Ward dropped 123 lbs. from 291 lbs., while Preston lost 195 lbs. for a final weight of 132 lbs.

NBC has ordered another season of Biggest Loser and casting is underway. "
