A small way to help Tsunami victims

A very good friend of mine sent me this e-mail today. It was from a frequent poster on one of her Yahoo Groups. I am passing it on because I like the idea that it seems a little more personal.

> Dear All-
>
> This message is for any of you might wish to send money for the disaster relief efforts in Sri Lanka.
>
> Fr. Denzil Vithanage is a friend of our family. He is a priest of the Blessed Sacrament order and is from Sri Lanka. Presently he is serving as pastor in a parish in Tyler, TX, where my brother also serves as a priest. We have known Father since his arrival in the States, and he is a precious soul. Father's family owns a tea plantation in Sri Lanka. They are all okay and, in fact, have 4 uncontaminated, working wells on their property. They also have land, and refugees have been arriving there since the start of the disaster. The family has been trying to get water and food to as many people as possible.
>
> If anyone wants to send the money directly to Fr. Denzil, he will be happy to send it along to Sri Lanka as quickly as possible. He will see that it goes to those in need (either helping his family in their personal efforts to assist refugees, or his religious order, who are also giving assistance, or others whom he knows personally who are helping those in need). Fr. Denzil says he is very grateful for all the prayers and support that has been given.

> If you wish your donation to be tax deductible, you may send it through my brother's parish as follows-
>
> Make the check payable to-
>
> St. Mary's
> WITH THE WORDS "Fr. Denzil" in the memo space
>
> Mark the envelope "Attn: Fr. Gavin"
>
> And send it to-
> St. Mary's Catholic Church
> 2108 Ridgewood
> Longview, Texas 75605-5199
>
> Gavin will then send the money on to Fr. Denzil and you can take the tax deduction for those funds.
>
> Hope this makes sense, if not, just let me know.
>
> Please share this information as you see fit.
